Good morning everybody, we’ve got some fog out there in spots, especially in areas like Orange, Fitchburg, southwest NH and Windsor Locks, CT in the southern CT River Valley nearest the river itself.

That will burn away, and highs will soar into the upper 60s to low 70s under mostly sunny skies. We can thank high pressure to our southeast for our warm southwesterly flow as air circulates clockwise around highs in the northern hemisphere.

For tonight, lows will drop into the mid 50s with clouds increasing, thanks to a southeasterly flow that will develop and push some low-level moisture back into the WMass region, fostering a few light showers or areas of drizzle overnight.

For Friday, any morning drizzle will come to an end and any patchy fog will lift, but mostly cloudy skies are expected to remain with perhaps a few sunny breaks in the afternoon, especially east of the I-91 corridor. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s, with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.

For Saturday, a cold front will be pushing through the region in the morning, and a few spot showers will be possible. Thereafter, mostly cloudy skies should remain, again with a few areas of sunshine possible later in the afternoon.

Highs will be warm, reaching the 65-70º range while dewpoint temps plummet, and drier air moves into the region.

This will help create a cold Saturday night as we clear out. With calm winds, lows will drop into the mid 30s for a true late October feel.

Sunday will follow suit and highs will only reach the low to MAYBE mid 50s for highs under mostly sunny skies and with light northerly or northwesterly wind. Lows will be in the upper 30s as clouds increase with a shower late.

Monday through Wednesday looks unsettled with a warm front moving through Monday bringing a few scattered showers and highs in the upper 50s to low 60s as temps rebound a bit from Sunday’s highs. Lows will drop into the 40s.

Tuesday will also feature highs in the upper 50s to low 60s with mostly cloudy skies early, and then a better chance of steadier rainfall Tuesday night into Wednesday as a cold front moves into the region, and low pressure slides east along it through southern New England.

Thereafter, we are firmly in the 50s for highs through the end of next week.

Today and maybe again on Saturday could be some of the last 70 degree readings we see for some time, possibly through the end of late Fall and Winter.

We shall see, but for now, today is the only day you’ll ever be guaranteed if you’re reading this, so get out and soak up some of that warmth and get ready for another step down into deep Autumn conditions.

Have a great day, and remember how much of a blessing it is to be able to see, hear, taste, smell, or sense anything in this world.

What a miracle…

P.S. Can you spot the incoming cold front on the attached dewpoint map? ;-)
