FROST ADVISORIES NOW POSTED FOR NORTHERN CT… A FROSTY PAIR OF MORNINGS ARE ON THE WAY FOR THE WMASS REGION… BREEZY CONDITIONS TODAY AT TIMES WITH A SPOT SHOWER, BUT AN IMPROVING DAY…. NICE WEEKEND WITH A FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY EVENING… NEXT WEEK REMAINS UNCERTAIN AND DEPENDS ON A SUBTROPICAL STORM’S INTERACTION WITH AN INCOMING FRONT TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH RAIN WE GET EARLY TO MID WEEK… (6:55am Friday)
Good morning everybody, my 2020 Weather Wall Calendar Sale launches tomorrow morning, so if you’re looking for holiday gifts for others, a calendar for yourself, and/or a way to support my work here, be on the look out for tomorrow morning’s post.
As for our weather sensible weather, we’ve got an improving day on the way.
To be sure, there will be a decent amount of cloudiness at times, and a spot shower can’t be ruled out.
But we should also see breaks of sunshine as the day wears on, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s in the high country, and mid to upper 50s in the valley locations.
Northwest winds will still be gusting, but should generally reach speeds of 20-30mph at times, maybe a few slightly higher gusts in the high terrain.
For tonight, breezes may be present early, but they should slacken overnight. Presuming we actually see clearing skies as expected, lows should drop into the low to mid 30s and produce patches of frost, so do what you must in response to such ground-based crystalline formations.
Saturday is gorgeous, as mostly sunny skies develop thanks to incoming high pressure. Highs should reach the mid 50s to near 60 degrees and winds should become light.
Another calm and clear night develops Saturday night, with more frost expected, as lows are forecast to dip into the upper 20s to low 30s – cold!
REMEMBER: The NWS stops issuing frost advisories in locations where they previously have been issued and where the growing season based on the USDA Hardiness Zone Map has ended. Still, frost is expected across many communities late tonight and late tomorrow night.
For Sunday, we should start off mostly sunny, but high level clouds will build in during the day, and provide filtered sunshine at times with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
These clouds will be thanks to a subtropical system that will have formed in the Gulf, crossed over northern FL and excited the Carolina coast.
This storm may bring a few spot showers generally south of the MA Pike Sunday night with lows dipping into the upper 30s to low 40s.
This coastal storm will sort of meander about to our south, and we will have to see how it interacts with an incoming frontal boundary that will extend SE off of low pressure near the Great Lakes.
If these two link up, or if another storm system forms along the front as it reaches the coastline, we could have a more substantial rainstorm by Tuesday, so stay tuned for updates as we get closer.
Have a great day!
