Western Mass Weather for October 13, 2019

TONS OF SUNSHINE OVER THE NEXT WEEK, INTERSPERSED WITH A SOLID-LOOKING RAINSTORM WEDNESDAY INTO EARLY THURSDAY… GET OUT AND PEEP SOME LEAVES, PEEPS! (8:55am Sunday)

Good morning everybody! Well, our meandering, lollygagging, lumbering, lazy-a** coastal storm finally picked up its belongings and headed out to sea to bother the fish of the Atlantic Ocean, leaving us with a trio of quite mild and sunny days to enjoy!

Today will feature mostly sunny skies early, with partly sunny skies later today and this evening, especially the further south you go.

It will be mild with highs reaching the mid to upper 60s with a light northwest flow.

Tonight temps will drop down into the low to mid 40s with partly cloudy skies as weak low pressure heads off the coast south of Cape Cod.

For Monday, another mostly sunny day is on tap for the WMass region with highs in the mid to upper 60s, again with a few more clouds in northeast CT and portions of CMass.

Lows tomorrow night will be chilly, dipping into the upper 30s to low 40s.

Our departing weak low that starts the next work week will pull in chillier air, so even though it will be fair and sunny on Tuesday, it will be colder, with highs only in the mid to upper 50s, with lows near 40 degrees.

By Wednesday, we will be watching low pressure push into northern New York state, as it transfers energy to the southern MId-Atlantic coastline.

This coastal low will become the primary storm system as it rapidly develops and heads northeast to Nantucket Island.

This storm looks to become negatively-tilted and will totally bomb out as it rips into the Gulf of Maine.

All of this storm activity will bring showers in sometime before noon on Wednesday, and should transition into a stratiform, widespread rainfall with windy conditions at times by Wednesday night, lasting into early Thursday.

It looks like a real, October rainy Nor’easter is on the way, with a different setup then our recent stalling, hybrid tropical/extratropical storm system.

Highs on Wednesday will be in the 50s with lows in the 40s.

Wind could be an issue with this one, both during the storm, and after on Thursday as it pulls away and high pressure moves in. Highs will be in the 50s Thursday.

I will dial in the wind threat for Wednesday night and Thursday as we get closer, but we can’t rule out damaging winds and some outages with this one.

Thereafter, high pressure looks to re-flex itself off the southeast U.S. coast and we could see a warming trend into next weekend, and some highs in the low 70s are possible!

Have a great day, and send me your foliage photos and post them below! Enjoy!
