Western Mass Weather for November 8, 2019

[BLUSTERY FRIDAY WITH LOW WIND CHILLS] COLDEST DAY OF THE NEW SEASON ARRIVES TODAY… COLD TOMORROW, CALMER WIND… MILDER SUNDAY… RAIN TO SNOW AS ANOTHER FRONTAL BOUNDARY PASSES THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY… EVEN COLDER AIR ARRIVES BY MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK… 2020 WEATHER CALENDAR SALE ENDS IN 9 DAYS… (7:45am Fri)

Good morning everybody, I saw this morning that Chester, MA received a coating of snow, and other areas as well.

Did anyone else here see snow and/or light accumulations? Please post below if you did.

Our cold front has cleared the region, and northwest winds are expected to gust upt 30-35mph at times today, which will make wind chills drop into the 20s for many of us with actual high air temps in the low to mid 30s.

In fact, some areas in the Berkshires or southern VT could see wind chills briefly dip into the teens today!

We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies today.

For tonight, winds should slacken and lows will plummet into the mid teens!

High pressure moves in from the southwest on Saturday, but we will still have a colder flow pattern in place, with highs in the mid to upper 30s under mostly sunny skies.

Lows will reach the low 20s on Saturday night with partly cloudy skies.

Our high moves south and east of us on Sunday, and so a milder southwesterly flow will set up as our next cold front starts pushing into the Great Lakes region to our northwest.

A shower is possible in the warm advection pattern, and highs will reach the mid to upper 40s, with lows near the freezing mark.

Monday, which is Veteran’s Day, will similar to Sunday with more clouds than sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 40s again.

Our next very strong cold front presses southeast toward New England.

This looks, at the moment, to be another frontal boundary convergence with a weak storm riding along it, so we should see rain, with the potential for a change to snow on the back side of this system as it rides the front.

This does have the potential for a more widespread light snow feel to it from this range, but I will keep you updated, as the Tuesday morning commute could be slippery.

Tuesday highs will be in the mid 30s, and then the bottom just drops out, and some of us may not see 30 degrees on Wednesday with windy conditions!!

A serious winter feel is on the way for today and tomorrow, but even more so by the middle of next week.

Stay tuned, and have a great day!
