Good morning everybody, we’re starting off with cold temps this morning, generally in the low to mid 30s, although a few upper 20s are observed, as well as some upper 30s – about a 10 degree spread.

While a few clouds will pass through at times, it should be mostly sunny day with high pressure tracking east through the Mid-Atlantic states and off the coastline to our south.

====================

Highs should reach the mid to upper 40s today with west winds gusting to 20mph at times.

Winds will calm tonight, and lows will be in the upper 20s to low 30s as clouds start to build in late from our incoming frontal/storm system.

For Thursday, it will be mostly cloudy as the cloud deck lowers into the afternoon.

Highs will reach the mid to upper 40s, but then start to fall in the afternoon as light rain overspreads the region.

Cold air will continue to press southeast towards the WMass region (including southern VT) by evening, and it will be getting cold enough to snow over our heads with time.

We could also see some heavier precip bursts over the Berkshires, southern Greens, and western hilltowns around or after sunset, and it is then snow should start mixing in to a few high elevation locations.

By about 6-8pm we should be changing over to snow in the northern Berkshires, central/northern Taconics, and southern VT, as well as adjacent western Franklin County and towns like Plainfield and Cummington in western Hampshire County.

These areas could see a coating to up to 2″ of snow, with up to 4″ in the southern Green Mountains. Some peaks like Mt. Snow and Stratton could see up to half a foot above 3000 feet!

Elsewhere, we will either mix with or change to snow sometime after 8pm in the rest of WMass and into CMass with some grassy coatings possible.

All precip quits by midnight. Lows drop to the mid to upper 20s.

Consequently, we need to watch out for black ice forming and creating slippery road ways by early Friday morning, so be on alert for that, which includes your walkways and driveways!

The coldest air of the season arrives Friday on gusty and blustery northwest winds, which could blow 30-40mph at times – with highs only in the low to mid 30s, wind chills will only be in the teens! Wind chills may even touch the upper single digits in the high terrain of southern VT! Big time anomalous for early November.

During Friday night we’ll plummet into the freezer, as winds calm down, skies clear, lows will dip into the mid to upper teens – serious ccccccold.

Saturday will be cold as well, but the wind will slacken, so expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 30s and lows in the low to mid 20s.

As high pressure scoots east, a southwest flow develops and raises us up to the mid to upper 40s for highs with southwest wind gusts to 25mph. Expect more clouds than sunshine as another front approaches the region. Lows will be near 30 degrees.

On Monday, we cool right back down as new cold enters the region. Highs will be 35-40 on Monday, and only 30-35 on Tuesday.

Monday night into Tuesday is the period to watch for a possible coastal snowstorm as well.

It is more likely to pass well to our east, but if it trends more west, we could all be dealing with accumulating snow as a strong (and for some, bitter) taste of winter arrives by the middle of next week.

Have a great day today, the only day you ever have <3 ==================== In addition to all the major holidays, stay informed about all the main celestial events each month, including moon phases, planetary conjunctions/displays, meteor showers and eclipses when you buy this year’s 2020 Weather Wall Calendar online today (message me for a pay by check option) https://westernmassweather.com/product/2020-dhtwn-wall-calendar/
