======================
Good morning everybody, it is certainly cold out there, and we won’t rebound a whole lot today.

Highs will only reach the upper 20s to mid 30s as high pressure moves east through northern New England today.

Northerly wind gusts could reach 20mph (Westfield hit 24mph earlier this morning), but should slacken with time.

Tonight, high pressure crests briefly overhead and continues to track to the east.

This will provide maximal radiational cooling, with lows in the upper single digits to maybe 10 or 11 degrees in a few spots. #WickedCold

For Sunday, a more easterly to northeasterly flow develops off of the Atlantic Ocean, and starts to foster more cloud production during the day.

We will start off mostly sunny, but transition to partly sunny skies in the afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 30s.

We will become overcast overnight on Sunday eve, as a strong but progressive coastal low pressure system will be tracking north-northeast toward Nantucket Island, and likely pass a good bit east of it.

With lows in the upper 20s to low 30s, and temps aloft well above freezing, any precip that moves into the region will likely start as a period of freezing rain.

It doesn’t look like a major icing event, but that doesn’t matter – even a glaze to tenth of an inch of icing on surfaces can cause hazardous travel.

Icing will be most pronounced in the Berkshires, SVT, western hilltowns, Litchfields, and northern Worcester County up into higher terrain portions of Cheshire County, NH.

The main impact period will be between 10pm Sunday night into 10am Monday morning.

Valley locations could see some icing, too, but it’s more likely we change to or just see plain rain in those areas through Monday, with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s – a super raw day, to be sure.

Rain and snow showers should quit Monday night as the low pulls away and brings colder air in briefly at all levels with lows near 30 degrees Monday night.

Tuesday through Thursday looks more seasonable, with highs in the 40-45 degree range, and lows near 30 degrees.

More showers are possible on Friday.

Have a great day, folks, and if you need a 2020 wall calendar or are looking for gifts for others, my weather calendar sale ends Tomorrow at midnight, so order today at the link below (message me if you want to pay by check)
