Western Mass Weather for May 8, 2019

FROST ADVISORY IS POSTED FOR CENTRAL AND EASTERN HAMPSHIRE COUNTY (HAYDENVILLE / HATFIELD / HAMP ON EAST TO WARE/B-TOWN)… COLD NIGHT COING UP, AREAS OF FROST LIKELY ALL OVER THE REGION NORTH OF THE PIKE ESPECIALLY… ANOTHER DRY DAY FOR THURSDAY… (6:45pm Wed)

Good evening everybody, now THAT was super sweet. Can I get an Amen? A Holla? Something? Bueller?

PATCHY FROST TONIGHT
High pressure crests through the region tonight, and with calm winds and with a light northerly flow, we’re going to plummet into the low to mid 30s across many areas.

The reason that part of Hampshire County is under the Advisory is due to the fact that the official growing season has started there, but frost is likely in many places north of the Pike tonight, and a few possible along and south.

After a chilly start tomorrow morning, we will warm to near 60 with more clouds around, but partly sunny skies should prevail, as well as dry conditions.

Clouds thicken tomorrow night with lows in the 40s, and rain showers around or after midnight.

Friday and Friday night looks rainy, Saturday looks sweet, and Sunday is half and half, with a great start, but rainy finish.

More details tomorrow morning, have a great night!

HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO TODAY, AND GIVES US A LITTLE HELP TOMORROW BEFORE RAIN MOVES IN FOR FRIDAY… SATURDAY LOOKS SUNNY AND SWEET, AND SUNDAY STARTS OFF FAIR BUT TURNS SHOWERY BY NIGHTTIME, LASTING INTO MONDAY… SUNSHINE SHOULD RETURN FOR TUESDAY… WE’RE STILL IN THE ACTIVE PATTERN, BUT IT’S WANING JUST A TOUCH…. PATCHY FROST POSSIBLE THURSDAY MORNING… (6:30am Wed)

Good morning everybody, we’ve got another beauty on the way today, and Thursday won’t be too shabby either! Saturday is looking sweet, too! Holy crap!

Ok, my energy-in-motions got away from me a bit, let’s send it back to Dave with the weather… Dave?

DAVEY, I MEAN DAILY DETAILS
For today, high pressure will be steadily nosing down from Canada, and will provide us with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s to low 60s with a list northwest wind.

Tonight, we have to watch to see if a cloud deck gets in here during the overnight. If it does, lows will sit down to about 40 degrees give or take. However, if it stays mostly clear most of the night, we could plummet into the mid 30s with some patchy frost possible. I will update later about this potential.

For Thursday, we may start off with some patchy frost and cold temps, but at least we will have another dry day, albeit with less sunshine. Skies will be partly sunny at best, with a chance for more clouds as the day wears on. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s.

Clouds thicken Thursday night and rain showers should move back in by midnight ahead of a warm front. Lows will dip into the 40s.

For Friday, about a quarter to half an inch of rain should fall during the day in the form of periods of showers as a cold front approaches and passes through on Friday night. Highs should hover somewhere around the upper 50s to 60 degrees, with lows in the upper 40s.

High pressure moves back through on Saturday with a mostly sunny day and killer kickstart to the weekend. Highs will reach the low 60s with lows in the low 40s.

Sunday should start off partly sunny, but clouds will build and showers are possible by afternoon or evening, I will have to refine the onset timing for incoming rainfall.

Sunday night into Monday looks rainy, and Tuesday looks more fair at the moment with partly sunny skies expected.

The pattern is still active but there’s a bit more opportunity for drier and sunnier periods, so chalk that up in the win column, and have a great day!

#Winning
