Good morning everybody, today our gray May rolls on with a couple of rounds of more organized shower areas expected to track through the region before we get a bit of a break tomorrow.
OUR WEATHER STORY
For today, clouds continue to dominate our skies, although departing high pressure will help produce enough sinking air (i.e. subsidence) to keep us dry this morning.
That is expected to change as at least some scattered showers work through during the late morning to mid afternoon period from west to east, and some may be on the heavier side if that cluster really develops.
Thereafter we should see less in the way of shower activity until late tonight, when another shortwave moves through with a cluster of moderate/heavy showers overnight into very early Saturday.
We can’t rule out a thunderstorm at any point this afternoon or overnight tonight.
Saturday is expected to be warmer with highs well into the 60s, which should be aided by at least a few sunny breaks or sunny periods. Still, clouds will likely be more prevalent than sunshine. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.
For Saturday night, low pressure will be tracking northeast to the MId-Atlantic coastline, and then passing south of New England, bringing what looks like a soaking rainstorm for late Saturday night and through Sunday.
Lows Saturday night will be in the 40s and highs on Sunday will be in the 50s, with Sunday night lows in the low 40s as we start to dry out and the storm departs east.
For now, Monday and Tuesday look amazing with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s.
Let’s all visualize this together!
More rain possible by middle of next week, but come on Monday and Tuesday!
Have a great day!
