Western Mass Weather for May 2, 2020

[WINNING WARM WEEKEND WEATHER ARRIVES… A FEW SHOWERS EARLY SUNDAY AND MONDAY MORNINGS WILL PROVIDE A FEW WATERY DOTS ON AN OTHERWISE MOSTLY SUNNY 4-DAY PERIOD THROUGH TUESDAY… SHOWERS POSSIBLE MID TO LATE WEEK, COOLER… 7:25AM SATURDAY]

Good morning everybody, what a gorgeous morning we’ve woken up to, and what a miracle it is to wake up to any morning, especially this one.

High pressure will be spreading into the region the Ohio Valley and provide abundant sunshine today, hooray!

Temps currently in the 40s will soar into the mid 60s to low 70s under blue skies, and a northwest breeze will gust to 20mph or at times. Just beautiful!

For tonight, a warm front will approach the region, and clouds will build late at night as lows sit down into the upper 40s to low 50s.

For early tomorrow morning, we will see some scattered showers drift through from the warm front’s gentle lift in the atmosphere.

These showers should arrive just before or around dawn, and continue into the mid morning or so, and then reveal a partly to mostly sunny day by the afternoon, and highs should respond, rising into the low to perhaps mid 70s if we can really get the cloud deck out of here earlier.

Warmth! Sun! Blue! Nice.

Sunday night will feature more clouds building at night with lows in the 45-50º range. The potential for some morning showers exists again on Monday, mainly south of the Pike.

Otherwise it will be a partly sunny day on average for Monday with highs in the 50s and low 60s with lows in the 35-40 degree range under partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday looks to be another high pressure day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 55-60º range and lows in the 35-40 degree range.

Wednesday through the end of the week brings much uncertainty, and also the potential for more showery periods as low pressure to our north creates a cyclonic flow over New England.

In addition, we have to monitor for a bigger storm around May 9 or 10th that may be colder, so I will keep you updated on that piece.

Enjoy this weekend, and especially today!
