OUR DAYLIGHT IS PEAKING OVER THE NEXT 4 WEEKS AS WE HEAD TOWARD 15 HOURS THIS WEEK… SAVOR THIS CREST OF LIGHT, MY FRIENDS… ASIDE FROM WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, WE’RE IN A STANDARD SUMMERY PATTERN WITH WARM DAILY TEMPS SET WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF A DRIER/SUNNIER START, FOLLOWED BY AFTERNOON CLOUDS, ISOLATED/SCATTERED SHOWERS AND MAYBE A THUNDERSTORM TODAY, LESS SO TOMORROW, AND THEN AGAIN BY FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND INTO NEXT WEEK… 80S ARRIVE THIS WEEK… SUMMAH… 6:35am Monday…
Good morning everybody, we’ve got some patchy fog out there, notably in Pittsfield and Orange, MA, and a few other spots may be saturated at the surface as well. This should burn off rather quickly as the yellow-white orb continues its ascension.
Temps are mostly in the 40s, but we’re set to soar by about 30 degrees so that by afternoon, highs will be well into the 70s, with maybe some upper 60s in the SVT high terrain.
It will be sunnier in the morning, but like yesterday, we will see some clouds building in the afternoon which will be partly sunny on average along with some scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm by mid to late afternoon.
Rain could fall heavily in a few spots, while some of us just stay dry all day.
For tonight, showers dissipate once again with the loss of surface heating from our star, and lows will fall to either side of 50º under partly cloudy skies.
For Tuesday, high pressure to our west which has been rotating these little disturbances around its northeastern flank from northwest to southeast and into New England will flex and bob east more towards our region.
This will cause our air mass to warm up, and highs are expected to reach the 75-80º range with mostly sunny skies, and a possible isolated shower or two in the afternoon, especially east of the I-91 corridor where the better moisture will reside.
We may see some wind gusts to 20mph, and lows will bottom out into the low 50s under clear skies on Tuesday night.
Wednesday and Thursday will be our first real taste of Summer!
Our days are really lengthening now, spanning 14 hours and 45 minutes soon, and with high pressure sitting on us like a mother hen, we will become quite toasty with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the mid to upper 50s.
And, it will be DRY, not humid. Yay!
However, by Thursday night some humidity will start creeping into the region, and the period from Friday through the weekend looks to reintroduce chances for afternoon showers and a possible thunderstorm.
Friday looks like a partly sunny day with highs in the 75-80º range, with some scattered showers in the afternoon, and lows in the upper 50s.
The weekend should be quite warm, with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s, but as of now, a shower or a thunderstorm will be possible each day, with more clouds expected on Saturday as a disturbance moves through.
A similar pattern looks likely into next week, but as always, stay tuned for updates as we get closer to that period of time.
Have a great day, folks!
