Western Mass Weather for June 27, 2019

A PAIR OF SWEET SUMMER DAYS TO END OUR WORK WEEK, WITH A *VERY* LOW CHANCE FOR A SHOWER NORHT OF RT. 2 THIS AFTERNOON/EVENING… STORMY AND SHOWERY AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND WITH SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY SATURDAY… FAIR BY EARLY NEXT WEEK… (6:30AM THURS)

Good morning everybody, it was rocking and rolling for some of us along and north of the Rt. 2 corridor in WMass, SVT and SWNH last night, thanks for all the pics and reports.

Speaking of which, Sam Razlots took the attached photos in the Berkshires i believe. When hail is nearby (and tornadoes) the sky can turn yellow or green, as the ice changes how light is reflected. These pics show clouds created by turbulent weather. Thanks, Sam!

SUMMARY
For today, mostly sunny skies prevail with highs in the low to mid 80s, and dew points in the low to mid 60s, which is humid but not horrible. An isolated shower or two are possible north of the Rt. 2 corridor, but most us should remain dry. Lows tonight will drop into the upper 50s.

For Friday, another mostly sunny and even warmer day (dare I say, hot?) with highs 85-90 (with low 80s in the high terrain of SVT).

Clouds will increase by night time as an upper low in southern Canada starts swinging and pinwheeling low pressure areas and frontal boundaries at us like they’re going out of style.

Showers are possible by midnight Friday night and into Saturday morning.

If we can get some clearing in here early enough on Saturday, we could see some strong to severe weather moving through by afternoon, with hail possible and gusty winds, so stay tuned to upcoming forecasts.

Highs will again be in the low to mid 80s Saturday, and lows will be in the 60s before a cold front passes through.

Sunday we should be cooler with highs in the 70s, but a cold pool of air will be swinging through behind the surface cold front, and this will destabilize the atmosphere, creating more showers and storms, and yes, more hail is possible on that day.

Make your cocktails, and stick your drinks out the kitchen window, ice provided by Motha Naytcha!

Early next week looks like sunshine returns with highs near 80 degrees.

Summah.
