Western Mass Weather for June 25, 2019

SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS MORNING GIVES WAY TO A LULL BY EARLY AFTERNOON, BUT MORE SHOWERS/STORMS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP FOR THE AFTERNOON AND WANE BY LATER TONIGHT… WED AND THURS AFTERNOONS FEATURE AFTERNOON SHOWER/STORM CHANCES… (7:00am Tues)

Good morning everybody, we’re sitting in the upper 50s to mid 60s this morning and dew points are starting to approach 60 degrees as a warm front approaches us from the west, which is sparking off our showers and even a thunderstorm reported over the eastern Catskills in southeast NY this morning.

Oh wait, it’s double dashes you want? I aim to please.

SUMMARY
–A warm front passes through the region today, which will bring higher dewpoint temps into the 60s, making it muggier here
–This with a few breaks of sunshine possible will help fuel additional showers and thunderstorms after the first batch as show on attached radar moves through from SW to NE
–Best chance for a t-storm this morn is northern Berkshires/Taconics into Bennington County, VT
–After this batch passes through, another is expected to develop, and some of us could see up to an inch or more of rain, with folks who get under the garden variety showers seeing a quarter to half inch of rainfall today
–Highs will reach the low 70s today under mostly cloudy skies, and lows will sit near 60 degrees with patchy fog possible tonight
–Wednesday and Thursday each will be warmer with highs in the 80s, and fairly muggy with dewpoints in the low to mid 60s
–A shower or thunderstorm is possible during each afternoon
–Lows will be in the low/mid 60s at night
–Friday looks quite warm to even hot, with highs 85-90 degrees (we could get close to 90 on Thursday, too)
–Friday also looks mostly sunny so a one-day reprieve from cloudiness and showers is expected
–The weekend looks unsettled, and I will dial that in as we get closer, but for now expect highs in the 70s to low 80s Saturday and the 70s on Sunday with showers possible each day

Have a great day!
