A PAIR OF MOSTLY SUNNY DAYS WILL MAKE 3 IN A ROW FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET RAINED OR HAILED ON YESTERDAY… SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVE BACK IN FOR TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY… (7:15am Sun)
Good morning everybody, the shower/storm coverage was a bit more than expected yesterday, though many of us remained dry and a lovely day the whole way through.
The hail was not expected, but happened due to the freezing level dropping much closer to the ground than originally thought, so the updrafts and convection that formed were able to tap into it and produce hail stones.
For today and tomorrow, mostly sunny skies are expected, with highs in the 75-80 degree range today, and in the upper 70s to low 80s tomorrow, with a few mid 80s readings possible. Lows will be in the 50s at night.
Clouds will increase Monday night ahead of a warm frontal boundary lifting northeast towards New England.
A few scattered showers will be possible after midnight during the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday we’ll see a warm front/cold front combo track through the region, so showers should be fairly numerous, and thunderstorms are possible late in the day. I will refine the timing as we get closer. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s with lows near 60 and patchy fog possible Tuesday night.
Wednesday showers will taper off in the morning, and we should end up with a partly sunny day with highs near 80 degrees.
The late week period could see a few showers or storms, but we should end up with mostly sunny skies by Friday.
Have a great day!
