[SCATTERED SHOWERS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON WITH EMBEDDED THUNDER… DRYING AND CLEARING FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT… SATURDAY IS THE PICK OF THE WEEKEND BY A MILE… SUNDAY MORNING SHOULD SEE CLOUDS DEVELOPING, SHOWERS AND STORMS BY AFTERNOON AND EVENING… TROPICAL STROM ISAIAS MAY MAKE A RUN UP THE EAST COAST SOMETIME BETWEEN MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY NIGHT AND BEARS WATCHING… EARLY NEXT WEEK LOOKS WET AND HUMID… 7:35am Thurs]
Good morning everybody, well even though a shower or storm was possible overnight, it did not appear that the disturbance tracking east through northern New England would be capable of producing such a strong/severe thunderstorm overnight with that level of light show!!
Thanks for all the reports around/after midnight last night, we had some damage in areas east of I-91, as well as reports of dime-sized hail in Holyoke and Belchertown.
Last showers from that system are exiting southwest NH and northeast Worcester County this morning, and this should reveal developing sunshine as the morning wears on.
Highs will reach the low to upper 80s under partly to mostly sunny skies, and a few showers or even a thunderstorm will be possible this afternoon ahead of an incoming cold front. It will be humid with dewpoints in the 60s to low 70s for a few of us.
Lows tonight will drop down into the upper 50s to mid 60s under mostly cloudy skies, which will become more clear as we move into Friday morning.
Friday and Saturday look like a pair of winners, with lower humidity, mostly sunny skies, high pressure dominance, and highs in the low to mid 80s for seasonably summery conditions.
Lows each night will drop into the low to mid 60s, with clear skies Friday night, but increasing clouds Saturday night.
By Sunday, we will be watching a mid-level trough press in from the Great Lakes region, and starting to manifest the Forces of Siphonage with a western Atlantic ridge.
Instability will re-enter the region, and numerous showers will be the result on Sunday, especially in the afternoon, evening, and into early next week.
Highs Sunday will be in the upper 70s to low 80s with lows in the upper 60s.
As we turn our attention to early next week, we have to start to consider that Tropical Storm Isaias has the potential to negatively impact the WMass region with at least copious rainfall influences, with the potential for wind impacts as well.
For now, assume the early-next-week period will be showery with occasional thunderstorms, and with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s, but PLEASE stay tuned for future updates as the appropriate macro atmospheric setup looks like it could be in place to draw this storm up the east coast and into New England.
More on that story in the coming days… for now, enjoy this one…
