(8:25pm Tues UPDATE) FLASH FLOODING POSSIBLE TOMORROW… SCATTERED SHOWERS, DOWNPOURS, AND ISOLATED STRONG TO POSSIBLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED AS THE TROPICAL FIREHOSE IS FORCED EAST BACK OVER SOUTHWESTERN NEW ENGLAND… THIS ACTIVITY WILL LAST INTO AT LEAST THE FIRST HALF OF THURSDAY… GO HOME, SOUPY SALES, YOU’RE DRUNK!
Good evening everybody, like I said earlier regarding Pat’s rainbow photo, I accept gold coins, bars, whatever you found at the end of the rainbow, even if it was a sandwich, I’m down!
For tonight, tomorrow and Thursday, please refer to the plethora of dashes below… a cornucopia of orphaned hyphens, if you will:
–Currently, our dewpoint temps reside squarely in the upper 60s to low 70s, with air temps in the mid to upper 70s. In other words, it’s still humid as hell out there
–You can see from the attached national dewpoint temps graphic that the eastern U.S. is a single, giant soup cauldron
–For tonight, scattered showers are still expected at times, and currently favored for the Berkshires and western hilltowns, along with Worcester County
–The corresponding parts counties and towns north/south of the Berkshires in CT and VT, and north/south of CMass in NH and northeast CT will see some sky water, too
–Expect lows in the upper 60s to low 70s tonight, with patchy fog late
–Expect highs tomorrow in the mid 70s in SVT, NH, the Berkshires and high terrain areas to the low 80s for valley locations. Lows will be in the low 70s tomorrow night
–For tomorrow, the showers will likely start early, as low pressure over south-central Canada and the Great Lakes pushes the tropical moisture feed east into New England
–High humidity continues throughout all of Wednesday and Thursday with dewpoints in the upper 60s to mid 70s
–The chance for downpours and thunderstorms will increase as the day wears on, and we get A) more moisture in here and B) some sunny breaks to aid in surface heating
–Showers, downpours, and thunderstorms will be possible tomorrow afternoon, night and into Thursday morning
–Flash flooding will be a concern, and some Watches may be posted by the NWS at some point soon
–Strong to severe thunderstorms may also contain strong, gusty winds, and frequent lightning
–By Thursday afternoon, we should see a cold front moving east of the region, and showers and storms should translate east, but not sure of exact timing yet
–Friday looks mostly sunny, but a secondary cold front may bring more showers and thunderstorms into Saturday morning before we clear out for the rest of the weekend
–Sunday is most definitely the pick of the weekend, with lower dewpoint temps, plenty of sunshine and highs in the low 80s
–We do it all over again next week, as a southerly, humid flow sets up shop again with more scattered showers, downpours and thunderstorms by mid week
And while we’re at it, have a water vapor loop so you can see the copious amounts of water vapor streaming south to north into the region (click link below):

Have a great night!
