Western Mass Weather for July 21, 2020

[A SWEET, VERY WARM RESPITE FROM THE HUMIDITY TODAY AS SOME REALIZE A 4-DAY HEAT WAVE… COMET-VIEWING WILL BE BEST EARLY, JUST AFTER SUNSET, AND EAST OF I-91, ESPECIALLY IN WORCESTER COUNTY AS HIGH CLOUDS WILL BE ADVANCING AHEAD OF A WARM FRONT TONIGHT… SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT INTO THE TOMORROW IN A COUPLE OF ROUNDS… HUMIDITY INCREASES ESPECIALLY WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY WHEN HEAT INDICES MAY APPROACH 100º AGAIN WITH MORE SHOWERS/STORMS THURSDAY… WE START TO DRY IT OUT LATER FRIDAY, AND THE WEEKEND LOOKS DRIER AND SUNNIER AT THE MOMENT… 7:20AM TUES]

Good morning everybody, The Bulletization Mobile (TM) has crashed into my place of dwelling and is just pinning the horn, so I’m going to comply with this forceful gesture, and get down to business…

SUMMAHRY
–Much drier air has arrived, with dewpoints in the upper 50s to low 60s, very comfortable
–Expect a mostly sunny day with highs in the low 80s to near 90º in spots
–Those that hit 90º today, may end up realizing a 4-day heat wave, which will end today, and ended for many yesterday
–We’ll see a light west winds, and we’ll also see high to mid level clouds building into the region from west to east this eve
–As such, viewing conditions for the comet will be mixed, though the further east you are of I-91, the better chance you’ll have to see it in the northwest sky below The Big Dipper, just after it goes full dark beyond sunset, around 9:30ish, or a little later
–Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 60s
–Clouds will continue to thicken and lower tonight, and we could see a morning round of showers and thunderstorms as a warm front approaches the region
–It will be a mostly cloudy day with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, with some dry periods, but also periods of showers and thunderstorms
–While a strong to severe storm can’t be ruled out, it remains to be seen how far through the WMass region our warm front will track, as well as what the extent of clouds and their negative impact on surface heating will be
–More scattered showers and downpours are expected Wednesday night at times, with lows in the mid to upper 60s as humidity increases once again, allowing for some patchy fog to form in the CT River Valley and other spots
–By Thursday, the warm front is through the region, and a better chance for some partly sunny skies along with scattered showers, downpours and strong thunderstorms exists
–Highs will be well into the 80s and dewpoint temps will be up into the low to mid 70s ahead of an incoming cold front, which will help to focus our unsettled weather overhead
–Any showers or storms will end Thursday night with lows in the 60s
–By Friday and Saturday, much drier air works into the region, with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the low to mid 60s with sunny skies during the day and mostly clear skies at night
–More showers are possible later on Sunday into Monday

Have a great day!
