Western Mass Weather for February 15, 2020

[ASIDE FROM SNOW TUESDAY MORNING AND A FEW SNOW SHOWERS IN THE BERKSHIRES SATURDAY NIGHT, SNOW HAS LEFT THE BUILDING FOR A WHILE] FAIR AND FAIRLY MILD WEATHER DOMINATES, INTERSPERSED WITH BRIEF COLD SHOTS… (7:15am Saturday)

Good morning everybody, it’s wicked cold outside! If you love cold, get outside and (gently) flop around on the ice crust, because we won’t see another night like this for at least a week.

For today, I give you mostly sunny skies, made to order, fresh from our Star’s Bakery, with temperatures adding up to not one but TWO baker’s dozen (26-30 degrees, roughly).

For tonight, a weak wave will fly through with a few snow showers in the Berkshires and adjacent high terrain, but nothing substantial. The valley should remain dry, but clouds will increase. Lows will kick it down into the teens.

For Sunday, more clouds than sun are expected but as high pressure scoots east of the Mid-Atlanatic coast, the southwesterly flow returns, and the temps go up.

Expect highs in the upper 30s to low 40s with some sunshine, but periods of clouds, too. Lows will drop into the low to mid 20s.

High pressure reasserts itself into the region Monday, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 30s with lows in the 20s as clouds build late Monday night.

By sometime on late Tuesday morning or by noon we can expect some light snow or mixed rain and snow, changing to rain during the afternoon. The high terrain may see an inch or two.

This one looks to be more of a rainmaker with a track well northwest of the WMass region.

Highs will be near 40 degrees with lows near 30 degrees and continued showers for a time.

Fair weather returns by the middle of next week. Enjoy the day, folks!
