Western Mass Weather for February 14, 2020

[WATCH FOR BLACK ICE THIS AM] A FAIR WEATHER STRETCH ARRIVES TODAY AND LASTS THROUGH MONDAY… SNOW CHANGING TO RAIN ON TUESDAY MORNING LEADS TO CALMER WEATHER BY MID WEEK… (6:45am Friday)

Good morning everybody, this morning’s post will be rather short as we’ve got some calmer weather ahead, so there’s isn’t much to talk about this morning.

TWO KEY POINTS
However, two things to mention is that you should be wary of black ice and slippery spots this morning, ESPECIALLY walking out to your car or on your paths, as it’s an easy day to slip on the ice and become injured, so Be Careful.

Secondly, tonight will be one of the coldest nights of the season with maximized radiational cooling given calm winds, dry air, and clear skies expected.

WEATHER SUMMARY
Before we get to tonight, however, let’s check in with today. It will present as a very cold winter day, especially when compared to what we’ve been experiencing recently.

Highs today under mostly sunny skies will crest in the upper teens to low 20s, and lows will plummet into the single digits Below Zero, so bundle up, my Valentines!!! <3 For tomorrow, we'll still have mostly sunny skies with highs in the 25-30 range and lows in the teens under mostly cloudy skies., Sunday will undergo a mildening, as high pressure pushes east off of the Mid-Atlantic coast. This will allow temps to rise into the 35-40 degree range. Expect more clouds than sunshine, and lows will dip into the mid 20s. Monday will be a carbon copy for high and low temps, but will feature more sunshine for sure. Some snow likely arrives during the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning and will change to rain with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. Showers may continue into the night with lows near freezing. Fair weather should return by mid week. Have a great day!!
