Western Mass Weather for December 24, 2019

GO FORTH AND TRAVEL… WELL, WATCH OUT FOR PATCHY BLACK ICE THIS MORNING… CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY ARE DRY… NEXT SHOT OF PRECIP IS FRIDAY MORNING, THE AGAIN SUNDAY… (6:50m Tuesday)

Good morning everybody, if you are traveling today, tonight, tomorrow, or Thursday, you’re in good shape.

Dry roads are expected save a few patchy black ice spots during the early mornings, and especially on side roads.

For today, north to northwest winds will gust up to 20mph at times with highs in the upper 30s, and lows in the mid to upper teens with some refreezing of snow melt over night.

For Christmas Day, expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 30s and light winds. Lows will be in the mid 20s.

On Thursday, highs again will reach the mid to upper 30s under partly sunny skies as a quick cold front moves through, but looks to return northward as a warm front tomorrow. Lows will drop into the mid to upper 20s.

For Friday, a warm front will pass back through and a system should pass to our north.

This would mean starting with mixed snow, ice and rain showers Friday morning and then changing to rain showers toward the noon hour. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s with lows near freezing.

Saturday is easily the pick of the weekend!

Highs will reach the low 40s under partly sunny skies with lows in the upper 20s.

Expect more rain and snow showers on Sunday and Sunday night, but details will have to be worked out as we get closer.

New Year’s Eve at the moment looks dry and fairly mild.

Have a great day!
