Good morning everybody, just a quick post to say that not much has changed from yesterday’s thinking, other than that our Tuesday storm will begin after midnight during the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning, and maybe as late as around 4-7am, so the morning commute (except for perhaps northern CT) may have lighter impacts than previously thought.

This report will be brief, but I will list out the salient points below. Double dashes, take me away! (dated, old Calgon reference from 1978):

SUMMARY
–Highs will only reach the 35-40 degree range
–Wind Advisories continue region wide
–Westerlies will gust 35-50mph at times, highest in the high terrain, lower in the valley
–A few scattered lake effect snow showers are possible in the high terrain west of the I-91 corridor (with southwest NH being the possible exception)
–Otherwise, we’ll have partly sunny skies
–For tonight, lows will be in the mid teens to low 20s with winds continuing to gust during the first half of the night to 35mph or so, then slackening late
–For Monday, we’ll enjoy a partly sunny day with highs in the low to mid 30s with dry conditions
–Clouds will build late into Monday evening as our storm approaches from the west-southwest, lows will be in the 20s
–Snow overspreads the region from southwest to northeast Tuesday morning, beginning either side of sunrise
–At the moment, it appears that the storm will track south enough to bring all snow to the region north of the MassPike with 3-6″ of snowfall there, and more like 1-3″ south of there with sleet and freezing rain ice accretions, which may cause some isolated outages in northern CT
–Highs will be in the upper 20s to low 30s, with lows in the low to mid 20s as snow quits after sunset
–Wednesday sees another Arctic cold front careening towards the region with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 20s to low 30s
–Some scattered snow showers/squalls are possible Wednesday evening, and then temps just plummet into the single digits with renewed northwesterly winds, dropping wind chills below zero in spots by early Thursday morning
–Thursday is very cold with highs in the teens and lows in the single digits under mostly sunny skies
–Friday and Saturday milden up a touch, but still cold, and still dry, mostly sunny conditions
–Then we watch on Sunday, as a coastal storm looks to set up somewhere in the western Atlantic
–For now, it appears to not be a threat, but that could change, so stay tuned

Have a great day, and if you need a calendar or holiday gifts for others, check out my offering below, thanks!
