Western Mass Weather for August 27, 2019

HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE FOR SOME FOLKS, ESPECIALLY EAST OF THE I-91 CORRIDOR IN MA AND CT TOMORROW EVENING AND NIGHT… (7:05pm Tues)

Good evening everybody, we’ve had quite a sky mix today, with mostly sunny conditions, and then high to mid level cloudy conditions, partly sunny, and even some fair weather mammatus clouds today, which tend to be higher up in the sky.

For tonight, clouds will develop with time, and thicken. Lows will drop into the mid to upper 50s.

For tomorrow morning into the early afternoon or so, we can expect mostly cloudy skies, and a few spot showers can’t be ruled out, especially over the Berkshires, Taconics, SVT and Litchfields.

Highs will reach the 75-80 range as humidity increases ahead of the front.

By mid to late afternoon scattered showers out ahead of the cold front will track east into eastern NY, southwest VT, northwest CT and WMass, and some heavier showers are possible.

The other concern is that a tropical depression will be tracking northward, passing east of the U.S. coastline.

However, with the cold front pressing in, it may draw some of that moisture into southern New England, and it could make it into parts of CMass, northeast CT, and even eastern portions of WMass.

The attached rain total graphic is likely way overdone, but it serves as an example that some tropical moisture could be entrained into our region tomorrow night.

Lows will bottom our near 60 degrees.

Some morning showers will be possible Thursday morning, with drying and clearing later in the day.

Have a great night!

WE’RE GONNA MAKE IT AFTER ALL… ANOTHER SWEET DAY ON THE WAY AFTER MORNING FOG PATCHES CLEAR… SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND MAYBE A THUNDERSTORM TOMORROW EVENING AND NIGHT AS A COLD FRONT SWEEPS THROUGH… DRY AND SEASONABLY WARM LATE WEEK BEFORE ANOTHER FRONT COOLS US DOWN BY LATE WEEKEND… (6:35pm Tues)

Good morning everybody, we’ll have another blue blanket above our heads to stare at today. A clear view of the Cosmos is always lovely, even when the only thing can see is our star in the sky.

Our star – one of hundreds of billions in our galaxy alone. My mind = blown (and no, I didn’t take the brown acid like some did a little over 50 years ago *wink*).

WEATHER SUMMARY
–Due to increased dews (dew points, that is) some patchy fog that has developed, will evaporate later this morning
–Expect mostly sunny skies, highs in the low to mid 70s, and light wind
–Lows tonight should land somewhere around the mid 50s under mostly clear skies
–For Wednesday, expect a partly sunny day on average with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s with more clouds after noon
–Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms should move into the region ahead of our frontal boundary, which passes through on Thursday
–Thank your lucky stars for this cold front, as it will nudge a tropical system coming up the east coast (but well offshore) and kick it seaward
–Lows will dip into the low 60s with scattered showers
–For Thursday, a few showers are possible during the morning, followed by mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s again
–Friday should become a bit muggy with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s and lows in the low 60s
–The weekend looks gorgeous, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 70s
–Fair weather continues into early next week

Have a great day!
