DEWPOINT TEMPS — Dewpoints will rise out of the 50s and into the 60s by tonight, and then soar into the 70s for a day tomorrow, which will be oppressively humid, followed by the most refreshing air we’ve felt in months by Thursday afternoon

SUMMARY:
–After some early morning patchy fog, we will enjoy another pleasant day with partly sunny skies and cooler-than-average temps
–Humidity will be pleasant to start, but will build later today and especially tonight as dewpoints rise from the 50s into the 60s
–Clouds will also increase by late afternoon and into the evening
–An isolated shower/sprinkle or two cannot be ruled out, but most of the rain should hold off until around midnight tonight, and especially during the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday AM
–Patchy fog may form late tonight as well, due to decreasing air temps and increasing dewpoint temps
–A warm front will push toward the region toward dawn, and we can expect showers, downpours, and thunderstorms to accompany the passage
–With the wind shift behind the front, as well as much higher dewpoint temps, there could be enough helicity (i.e. turning of the air) in the low levels to spawn an isolated tornado, something I’ll keep my eyes on
–After the early morning activity passes to our north and east, we will be firmly in the soup again on Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 70s, and dewpoint temps in the low to mid 70s. Blech!
–While mid level drier air will work in from west to east as a cold front approaches in the afternoon, there may be enough wind shear and moisture to produce a broken line of strong to severe thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon
–Behind this second round of wet weather, fresh Canadian air will be firmly on the march west to east
–By later Wednesday night, we should be drying out, and winds could gust in the Berkshires out of the northwest up to 30mph at times. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s
–Thursday through Saturday look beautiful, plenty of sun, very low humidity, and highs 75-80. Gorgeous!
–By Sunday, another front may pass through with some showers, and we will start to warm early next week, and see humidity increase too
–The end of August and beginning of September looks like it will be warmer than normal, so we’re not entering Autumn yet, but my friends, the southern moisture siphon has been turned to the OFF position. One step at a time.
–Lastly, come and see me play bass with my friends tonight for Transperformance 28 at Look Park on the Pines Theatre, 4pm to 9:30pm!
–I’m playing with Derek & The Dominoes, Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars, and Adam & The Ants, but come for the whole thing, it’s a total blast and great community time, and the musical talent is top notch!
