Good morning everybody, we’re still here! I often ask myself how the heck that happened, especially given some of the life choices I made in my past. I’m astonished that I’m still respirating, but am grateful to keep going, I hope you are too.

We’re starting off with fog in a number of spots this morning, as air temps and dew point temps have merged in some cases, causing 100% saturation and so moisture has condensed out of the air into ground clouds. These will burn off as the morning wears on.

We’re heating up today through Wednesday folks, as we’ve got clockwise-circulating high pressure to our south over the western Atlantic Ocean which is pumping a deep southwesterly, muggy flow right into New England over the next few days.

With dew points in the upper 60s to low 70s, and air temp highs in the upper 80s to low 90s today, the combo will create Heat Indices in the mid to upper 90s, so take it easy out there if you have respiratory complaints preceding the arrival of this hot day, and don’t leave your kids or pets in a car without ventilation.

It will be mostly sunny today with an isolated shower, downpour or thunderstorm possible in the afternoon or evening. This will lead to partly cloudy skies tonight with lows in the mid to upper 60s, with continued high humidity and patchy fog formation again.

For Tuesday, a repeat of today is on the way, but we’ll have to add a couple of degrees. Expect highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s with Heat Indices in the upper 90s to near 100º, along with an isolated shower, downpour or thunderstorm. It will very humid again, and lows will only bottom out in the upper 60s to low 70s.

On Wednesday a slow-moving cold front will begin to approach the region, and so we will see more clouds than sun, with highs in the 85-90º range, along with more numerous showers, downpours and thunderstorms.

Still, some folks will remain dry, but more of us will see some wet weather as convection fires ahead of the incoming front. Showers will continue at night in spots, with lows in the upper 60s.

More scattered showers are expected on Thursday, but the front should be through the region by end of the day, which will shunt showers and any storms south and east of the region. In fact, south of the Pike into northern CT may be the focus of showers on this day, we’ll have to refine it as we get closer.

Highs Thursday will reach the low to mid 80s with lows in the 60s as we begin to dry out and cool down.

The Friday through Sunday period looks gorgeous, cooler, and less humid with abundant sunshine.

Highs on Friday will be in the low to mid 80s with lows in the low to mid 60s, with highs tamping down over the weekend into the upper 70s to low 80s and lows in the low 60s under mostly sunny skies and mostly clear nights.

Now that’s more like it… have a great day, and to the 100,000 CT residents STILL without power, all I can say is find shade today and be by a body of water. The damage was extensive down that way, and crews are working as hard and fast as they can to get power restored to you. Hang in there!
