Western Mass Weather for August 10, 2018

(6:25AM FRI) ONE PRETTY SWEET DAY. THEN, MORE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS WEEKEND THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK… PASS THE MUSHROOMS…

Good morning everybody, we get a little break from the humidity today, but unfortunately we can’t rule out an isolated shower or two today. Tomorrow into next week looks like more showers and possible thunderstorms at times. Yay.

SUMMARY:
–Our frontal passage will allow drier air to work into the region. Expect highs in the upper 70s in SVT, SWNH, Taconics, Berkshires and western hilltowns with low to mid 80s in the rest of WMass, CMass and northern CT
–A few isolated showers are possible today, otherwise expect partly to mostly sunny skies
–Expect lows in the low 60s tonight with dewpoint temps in the upper 50s to low 60s
–For tomorrow, that front will be pushed back north and amplified by both a weak surface disturbance and an upper level low over the Midwest
–This will focus showers and some thunderstorms over the region, especially in the afternoon
–How far north the precip shield gets is uncertain, though it looks like it should reach into SVT and SWNH
–It’s possible that we only see highs in the upper 60s region-wide on Saturday!
–Patchy fog is possible at night with a continued threat for more showers
–Sunday looks a bit milder, but highs look to only be in teh 70s with more scattered showers and thundestorms possible
–Humidity will rise with the Saturday showers, and it will be come humid again into early to mid next week, when more showers and thunderstorms are possible

Hope you have a great day!
