Western Mass Weather for April 24, 2020

[SIGNALS OF A CHANGING PATTERN… OCCASIONAL SHOWERS AND MIST TODAY ENDS BY MID/LATER AFTERNOON… NICE DAY TOMORROW… SLOWER ONSET FOR SUNDAY STORM, STARTING BY NOON OR INTO AFTERNOON… WHAT COULD BE THE FINAL HILLTOWN SNOWSTORM OF 2019-2020 IS POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY WITH RAIN IN THE VALLEYS… NICE TUESDAY… AN INLAND RUNNER TRACKS NW OF US WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY, WHICH MAY CRACK OPEN THE GATES OF SPRING BY NEXT WEEKEND… 7:40AM FRIDAY]

Good morning everybody, rainfall moved in over night, and temps are around the 35-40 degree mark.

Did anybody see any snow or sleet mixing in this morning? Please do let me know.

For the rest of today, our storm will track east off of the Mid-Atlantic coastline and bring periods of rain showers, mist, and even some lulls in the action, too.

Highs will reach the mid to upper 40s, and rain should start to get out of here by mid afternoon or so.

Tonight will feature mostly cloudy skies with lows in the low to mid 30s. Skies will clear late, thanks to incoming high pressure.

A gorgeous Saturday is on the way, as high pressure crests over the region and gives way to mostly sunny skies, and highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s with a light west wind.

Our fair weather will be short-lived, however, as clouds increase at night due to a northern stream system and southern stream system phasing over the New England area for Sunday and Monday. Lows will dip into the upper 30s Saturday night and we’ll enter Sunday with overcast skies.

Sunday morning may just be cloudy or feature a few showers, but by afternoon, steadier rains should be pushing into the region. Highs will only reach the mid to upper 40s.

We will also be watching colder high pressure position itself north of New England in southeast Canada.

This will set up a cold drain tap into the region, and as the storm passes to our south, we could see a mix with or even change to heavy wet snow or sleet Sunday night into Monday morning, and it could accumulate. Stay tuned for future updates. Sunday lows will be in the low to mid 30s wi

It will just be a cold rain in the CT River Valley, and rain will linger into Monday with highs in the 40s.

A pair of raw, rainy, potentially wintry, and unseasonably cold days are on the way.

But, there is a chance that could end this streak of late-winter pattern weather.

By Tuesday, we get another sunny and mild day with temps near 60s, and then by Wednesday into Thursday we get more rain, but we’ll be on the warm side of a system that passes to our northwest, which should allow milder temps to work into New England for next weekend.

That’s how it looks now, I will keep you updated of any changes. Have a good day!
