Good morning everybody, as it happens from time to time, The Bulletization Mobile(TM) is parked right outside my window, beeping its horn incessantly (yes, it’s a self-driving Bulletization Mobile, don’t get me started), so much so that the window is rattling. This means it’s being “urgently suggested” that I whip out the double-dashes and fling them about below with our salient weather points attached to them, so I will do that forthwith!
SUMMARY
–Wind picked up over night out of the west and northwest and will continue today
–Our wind is due strong low pressure to the northeast of Maine, with high pressure building through the Ohio Valley
–The resulting pressure gradient will keep the winds gusting 30-40mph at times today
–Wind chills this morning will dip into the upper teens to 20s, and in the afternoon hang somewhere in the 30s, so it’s going to feel wintry outside
–In addition, this northwest flow is producing some scattered snow showers that will continue into the Taconics, Berkshires, western hilltowns, Litchfields, and SVT, and maybe spill into the valley this morning, then they will dissipate as the day wears on
–Highs today will only reach the upper 30s to mid 40s
–Lows tonight will be quite cold, in the low to upper 20s with winds gusting to 30mph, so wind chills will dip back down into the teens once more
–It will be mostly clear most of if not all night, so we should have good Lyrids viewing conditions. They Lyrids usually produce 10-15 meteors per hour. It will be cold so bundle up if you go star gazing
–For Thursday, early morning sunshine goes away, and it will become mostly cloudy with a few showers possible with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s
–A storm system will track out of the southern Ohio Valley and off the Mid-Atlantic coastline Thursday night into Friday
–This will bring rain back into the region Thursday night and lasting through the daylight hours of Friday
–Rain will steadiest south of the Rt. 2 corridor, but even north of there some shower activity is expected
–Lows Thursday night will dip into the mid to upper 30s with highs Friday in the mid to upper 40s. Lows Friday night as rain quits will drop into the low to mid 30s, so we can’t rule out some black ice patches in the high terrain
–For Saturday, Pick Of The Weekend!
–Mostly sunny, light winds, high pressure, highs mid 50s to low 60s, get out and enjoy some nature! Although, watch the pollen counts, if you are an allergy sufferer, they are likely to increase Saturday
–Clouds work back into the region Saturday night as a northern stream system tracks toward New England
–Showers arrive late Saturday night with lows in the upper 30s, and Sunday looks rainy and raw with highs in the mid 40s, and showers lasting into Sunday night with lows in the 30s, blech
–Monday is a transition day to drier weather conditions by Monday afternoon into Tuesday before more rain is possible in the middle of the week
–The end of April looks just this way, folks: cooler than average, wetter than average, and it may last into early May or so before we get a real Spring warm up
