3. And now here’s Dave with the weather, take it away, Dave. Thanks, Dave, and good morning everybody, we’re going to copiously employ the use of double–dashes, sprinkling a plethora of these two-lined digital list-making devices to hash out the salient weather points of the day for your pleasurable perusing…
–Yesterday was the definitely the story of haves and have nots, rain-wise
–Some areas got up to, or even over 2″ in WMass, while some folks were lucky to get two-tenths of an inch
–Such is the nature of scattered summer time showers and thunderstorms
–Luckily, aside from a few hailers, a few bouts of wind, and some street flooding in spots, these storms didn’t rise to the level of severe, which was an isolated chance anyway
–All of that is behind us now, and we’ve got 3 days of increasingly warm temps associated with fair weather to look forward to as we push toward the 1st day of Meteorological Summah on Wednesday, along with 15 full hours of daylight!
–For our Sunday, mostly sunny skies have arrived with high pressure to our south and the upper trough exited to the east
–Highs will reach the mid 70s to low 80s with a light west wind and lows will drop into the mid 50s, with low humidity throughout
–However, by Memorial Day our southerly flow invigorates and humidity will increase, as will our temps
–High should climb into the mid 80s to low 90s under mostly sunny skies as humidity creeps up, but it won’t be completely intolerable
–With lows settling down into the mid to upper 60s under partly cloudy skies, this means that the next 2 days are two summery winners for outdoor activities during the long holiday weekend, so enjoy!
–Once we get to Tuesday, this should be the peak heat of this stretch of warmth, with highs again rising into the 80s to low 90s
–However, clouds will start moving back into the picture with a partly sunny day expected, and a back-door cold front will be pressing south and southwest toward the greater WMass region
–It likely stays east of southwest NH and CMass, but it will be getting close if not pushing into eastern parts of Worcester County, which may keep temps in the low 80s there
–Expect partly sunny skies on average and a spot shower possible. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s
–For Wednesday, said front likely pushes into much of the WMass region, tamping temps down into the upper 70s to low 80s with showers moving into the region
–The late-week period looks to feature a couple of other periods of showery conditions at times with highs in the 70s and low in the 50s, followed by what looks like a sunny start to next weekend
That’s it for today, folks, hope you have a great day, get out and enjoy the nice weather, and please do check out my apparel sale (which ends TONIGHT) at the secure link below as a fun gift to yourself or others if you live in the Pioneer Valley…thank you!
