[MON-7:00AM] SEASONABLE WEATHER RETURNS WITH LOWERING HUMIDITY AND COOLER BUT PLEASANT TEMPERATURES… MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND LOOKING GOOD SO FAR…
TODAY’S DATE: Monday, May 23, 2022
Good morning everybody, we’re starting off with much lower dew points in the 40s, and air temps in the mid 40s to upper 50s so we can all breathe a sigh of relief as Canadian advects into the region. Fair weather will last through Wednesday which will be followed by a period of more humid conditions, along with showers and thunderstorms by later Thursday and Friday, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with a new location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, thank you for all of the pics, videos, reports, and condition updates yesterday evening. They clearly illustrate the variety of weather we experience in such a small region, and how it varies WIDELY even with the same town, which is always good for people to remember!
All of the outages have been restored, I believe, but I know that some wind damage still remains, and I hope that nobody got hurt and that the damage is covered or able to be handled.
That was a hairy front that came through, I thought we were going to see a bunch of trees snap in half where I live!
Anyway, that wildness is past us, and now we’re in the calm AFTER the storm, with the cold front well east of us, and cooler, crisper Canadian air overspreading the region on northerly flow behind the front.
Dewpoints are already in the 40s, and air temps have cooled into the 50s mostly, but with some mid to upper 40s in southern VT and nearby areas.
For today, we’ll have some cloudiness at times with leftover mid to high level moisture, but we’ll develop periods of sunshine, so let’s call it partly sunny on average, with the hopeful trend for more sunshine this afternoon.
Highs will reach the mid 60s to mid 70s from north to south with low humidity, and a light northerly wind will be present, which may gust to 20mph at times.
Clouds increase tonight as a little wave tracks way south of us, but may bring a few sprinkles overnight to northern CT. Otherwise, it will be dry with lows in the mid 40s to low 50s, with some low 40s in southern VT.
For Tuesday, any morning clouds should give way to developing sunshine by afternoon, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s under partly sunny skies and lows in the mid to upper 40s.
For Wednesday, it’s a copy of Tuesday, except temps may rise into the mid 70s as southerly flow starts to approach the region, with lows again in the mid/upper 40s.
By Thursday and Friday, a high pressure cell responsible for our 3-day stretch of calm weather will slide east and off of the coast, and return a southerly flow into the region, which will help push a warm front towards us.
This could bring some late afternoon showers after a day with highs again in the upper 60s to mid 70s. More showers are expected at night with lows in the mid to upper 50s.
By Friday, a, cold front will be approaching the region with highs well into the 70s under mostly cloudy skies.
A period of showers and thunderstorms are expected, but they don’t look severe at the moment due to lack of surface heating, but I will keep an eye on it and update you.
Memorial Day Weekend starts off beautifully as we head toward the end of Meteorological Spring and the kick off for Meteorological Summer. Highs should be well into the 70s, and possibly reaching into the low 80s by Sunday and Monday with dry conditions expected thus far, so outdoor plans look unimpeded.
