WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, we’ve got another sweet today ahead, with plenty of sunshine, and warmer highs into the upper 70s to mid 80s (maybe mid 70s in the southern Greens of VT).
A light southwest flow will develop ahead of our incoming frontal boundary and tiny trough.
This will cause clouds to increase later this afternoon and evening, with a few isolated showers possible as the front makes its way east overnight. We can’t even rule out a thunder rumble, with the best chance for any heavier showers being in SVT and SWNH, points north.
For tonight, lows will dip into the 50s, and should hang in the low 60s over northern CT with mostly cloudy skies and a shower or two.
For Thursday, that front sweeps east, and our upper ridge / heat dome starts to approach from the west, which will bring warmer highs into the upper 70s to mid 80s with some upper 80s possible in the lower valley under mostly sunny skies. It looks to be clear Thursday night with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s, all with tolerable humidity, mind you.
Friday gets hot with the upper ridge sliding overhead and east over the ocean, which drives southwest flow into New England, and produces high temps into the upper 80s to mid 90s, with humidity building later in the day.
Lows will only dip into the mid to upper 60s with increasingly humid conditions, as clouds increase ahead of a much stronger frontal boundary passage for Saturday.
On Saturday, we can expect a mostly cloudy day with showers and potential thunderstorms, the intensity of which will depend on how quickly the front moves in and how much it aligns with what appears to be both decent instability (a measure of the ease of which air could rise), and strong wind shear (a measure of changes of wind speed and/or direction, with height), which are two elements you need to produce strong/severe thunderstorms.
Highs will reach the upper 70s to mid 80s, and for now, much of Saturday into Saturday night looks wet, but I will refine as we get closer. Lows will bottom out in the upper 50s to low 60s and humidity will begin to wane.
Sunday looks good for now, but the only fly in the ointment is the timing of the preceding front. If it arrives later than expected, Sunday morning could see a few shower or clouds before a sunnier second half.
Otherwise, a very nice day looks to be in store with highs in the low to mid 80s under mostly sunny skies, and the 4th of July looks perfect with similar temps, and lower humidity!
Showers are possible by Tuesday or Wednesday with continued seasonably warm temps.
That’s all for now, my friends!
I hope you have a great day, and remember…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
