Hot and humid on Sunday with highs in the low to mid 90s and dewpoint temps near 70º!
HOT, SUNNY, AND INCREASINGLY HUMID WEEKEND AHEAD… RAINY ON MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT… NICER TUES/WED… WARMER LATE WEEK WITH MORE RAIN BY NEXT SATURDAY… TAKE IT EASY THIS WEEKEND… 7:35am Sat…
Good morning everybody, we’re gonna bake for a couple of days with tons of Sun, so if you are outdoors this weekend, keep hydrated, protect thy skin if you are epidermically sensitive (yes, I know that’s not a real word), and cool down when you can.
We’ve got that center-of-the-country upper ridge moving in for a spell (a ridge is just an upper level area of higher than average pressures, which tends to beget surface high pressure cells, fair weather, sunshine, and in the summer, heat and sometimes humidity).
This is going to create even more sunshine than Friday and allow temps to rise into the mid 80s to low 90s for highs. Humidity will still be fairly tolerable, but dewpoints will crest 60º and we’ll feel it. There will be no wind to help move the air around, and lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s.
For Sunday, the heat and humidity will peak, with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s, and humidity rising, with dewpoint temps in the mid to upper 60s – hazy, hot and humid!
Clouds will build in the evening, and we may see a few pre-frontal showers move in by early Monday morning.
A cold frontal boundary will be approaching the region Monday morning, and skies will become overcast as a plume of moisture interacts with the front, producing more numerous and heavier showers by afternoon and/or evening.
Highs will only reach the the mid to upper 70s, and we can’t rule out a few thunderstorms, but again, severe weather is not expected. Lows Monday night will bottom out in the low to mid 50s and showers quit.
Tuesday will feature more light northwesterly flow, sunnier skies, and highs in the mid to upper 70s with lows in the low 40s, with a Wednesday warm up into the low to mid 80s under mostly sunny skies.
By late week we will be approaching the upper 80s for Thursday and possibly the low 90s by Friday with more sunshine, and then rain showers by Saturday with cooler weather once again breaking the heat south and away.
That’s the weather news from the Connecticut River Valley, have a great day and weekend!
