West/Zonal flow means heat and humidity is shunted south.
Good morning folks, we’ve got some patchy dense fog out there especially in eastern Franklin County and southwest NH with temps in the 50s – I even saw some upper 40s! Very dry and comfortable conditions continue today with increased humidity into Thursday and Friday with a few showers and thunderstorms to be followed by a great weekend into early next week, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, the sky is blue, we’re still suspended in the cosmic firmament, still respirating, still pontification, still ruminating, still rejoicing, still worrying, still doing all the human things, so let’s raise our eyebrows, put on a simple smile and go forward into the world today, once again.
In addition, my intuition tells me you want EVEN MORE double–dashes, and since I just so happen to be a master purveyor of this two-character pair, allow me to indulge myself and your requests!
SUMMAH-RY:
–After we deal with some patchy dense fog in spots, we’ll burn it right off and get on with our mostly sunny day
–Winds will be light and variable, with highs mainly in the low to mid 80s (the southern Greens may hang in the upper 70s and Hartford may touch 87 or 88)
–High to mid level clouds will build later in the day, and the cloud deck will thicken up overnight as a warm front makes a northeastward approach to New England
–Lows will be mainly in the 60s, and humidity will be increasing
–A few morning showers are possible Thursday as the warm front comes through, and someone may see a moderate to heavy burst of rainfall
–Otherwise, we should see a partly sunny day with highs in the low to mid 80s, prior to a line of showers and thunderstorms tracking into the region during the late afternoon or early evening with another front
–Some storms may become strong to even severe (especially in southern MA and northern CT), but remember not everyone is going to see a shower or storm
–Again, “scattered” means some folks get nothing, zero, zilch, nada, nil, so don’t get your hopes up, I would say
–Humidity continues at night with lows in the low to mid 60s
–On Friday, temps come down a little but it’s still humid, and high temps will reach the upper 70s to low 80s
–Another front and shortwave comes through the region, and brings some isolated to scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm until about 8 or 9pm
–Lows Friday night behind the front will drop to the upper 50s to low 60s as drier air comes back into the region
–The weekend looks amazing, with mostly sunny skies both days, and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s Saturday, and low to mid 80s Sunday with lows in the 50s to near 60º
–Monday and Tuesday may continue this sunny streak with highs well into the 80s, but by mid-week humidity and heat should be building back into the region as we move into the first week of August, which looks warmer than average, so more heat and humidity surges are yet to come

REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
