Good evening everybody, this is just a quick post to say that what is essentially a frontal boundary representing the final shift out of our Arctic air mass regime and into a more seasonable winter air mass is on its way through the region tonight.

We’ve had some periods of snow in some spots earlier, while other folks saw little to no activity.

The main brunt of precipitation with this front will move through between 7pm and 1am, again impacting northern CT into far southwest MA (southern Berkshires, western Hampden County) the least, with a potential for coatings to an inch down there with some freezing rain or freezing drizzle late, which is why Winter Weather Advisories are up for those southern areas.

Along and north of the Pike most will see 1-2″ or so, with 2-4″ expected along and north of the Rt. 2 corridor in northern MA where the other set of Winter Weather Advisories are up within the greater WMass region due to better proximity to the better atmospheric rising air motion, or “lift”.

Please report any conditions or snow amounts later this evening under this post, if you’re able to. Again, in it’s a light event, but couold snow steady for a whjile and cause slippery travel so take it easy out there later tonight, especially the further north you travel in the region.

Have a great night, and if you rely on my work year to year, I’m asking for your support tonight during my annual Support Drive for 2026, at this secure link, thank you:
