THE BLIZZARD OF 2026 IN A PHOTO...
It’s as perfect a mid-latitude winter cyclone that you’ll ever see! It almost has an eye, and is as strong as a Category 2 hurricane. Historic for far southern and eastern New England and a likely memorable cap to the core of the Winter of 2025-26.
As a quick update, a moderate to heavy snow band has formed in Franklin County, central/west Hampshire, central/west Hampden down into the southern Berkshires and northwest CT… it is tracking west-southwest… this likely represents the height of the snowfall portion of the storm, especially in Litchfield County which is getting hammered right now… stay inside if you can, it’s nasty out with wind gusts now up to 55mph at Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks, CT and 46mph at Barnes in Westfield, MA. Low visibility at times, and cold… Full update coming at mid-day…
