FREEZING RAIN BECOMING THE MAIN ISSUE TONIGHT... BLACK ICE BY TOMORROW MORNING...

Good evening everybody, this circled area has been identified by the Storm Prediction Center out of Norman, OK as the most likely place for ice accretion to develop due to freezing rain this evening and into the pre-dawn hours.

Any snow or sleet will be pushed to north of the Rt. 2 corridor, and icy travel will continue to worsen as plenty of precipitation is pushing east-northeast into south-central and eastern NY towards the greater WMass region.

Travel is unrecommended, let’s put it that way… remember, not only will many of us be dealing with freezing rain and icy conditions, there is still big patches of ice under the new snow that fell north of the Pike (the heavier amounts anyway) so you gotta be careful when walking and driving on this stuff, folks, especially walking on it… I almost took a digger about half a dozen times earlier!

Ok, I’m going to disengage from the weather, we’ve got 6-8 more hours of icing and snow in far northern areas, and it should be gone by dawn tomorrow, so I’m gonna grab some grub and get to bed to get the morning report out tomorrow, which features MORE icing for late Thursday night into early Friday for some of us #HappyHappyJoyJoy

Have a great night!
