FREEZING DRIZZLE PATCHES WITH FLURRIES AND SNOW SHOWERS EARLY TUESDAY MORNING WITH SOME SLICK SPOTS POSSIBLE... ACCUMULATING SNOW CHANCES ARE INCREASING FOR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON/EVE

Good evening everybody, I just wanted to poke my head in here to remind you that we’ve got a weak wave moving through overnight, which will push produce some flurries, a few snow showers capable of caoting the ground in scattered fashion, along with some patchy freezing drizzle with lows in the 20s overnight.

This activity comes in during the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning, and will last through about mid morning or so tomorrow, abating by mid-day.

Highs will reach the mid to upper 30s tomorrow with some partial sunshine later in the day before sunset. Lows will bottom out in the mid to upper 20s Tuesday night with clouds increasing once again.

By Wednesday morning, we’ll be overcast and watching a finger of precipitation form along a frontal boundary with colder air to the north and milder air to the south.

Exactly where the 75 to 100 mile wide band of heaviest precipitation sets up and tracks east-southeast in our region will help determine who sees the higher snow amounts in what looks like a light to moderate snowfall event (hard to call it a storm).

For now, it looks like areas along and north of the Pike should see anywhere from 2-5″ of wetter snow, and south of there more like a coating to 2″ in far southern MA down into northern CT (and there could be sharp cutoff to the south between rain and snow).

We’ll start as plain rain in parts of WMass, CMass and certainly in CT as far north as the Rt. 2 corridor in northern MA with snow or mix north of that changing to snow as the afternoon wears into the early evening, but I will try to dial timing and impacts in during tomorrow morning’s report and an evening report as well.

And beyond that there is more wintry weather possible Friday afternoon and night, and maybe late in the weekend, so all of a sudden we’re busy again in the Weather Department!

Have a great night!
