LIGHT SNOW SUNDAY MORNING FOLLOWED BY A VERY COLD SUNDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING PERIOD...
Good afternoon everybody, well temps like that certainly felt good on the oldening bones, I must say! I hope you got outside!
As far as this Spring-y feel, I’m afraid we’ve got one more true bout of Winter weather to endure before we can together tune into the next episode of “The Mildening”, which is coming soon to a valley near you!
For tonight, partly cloudy skies will dominate early followed by increasing clouds as a frontal boundary and weak wave of low pressure presses east towards our region.
This system is going to be a light event, but because lows will dip down into the upper teens to mid 20s overnight, it’ll be cold enough that a steady light snow moving into our region between 6am and 8am tomorrow morning will cause some early slick travel in spots.
Basically, this looks like a 6am to Noon light snowfall, with a few moderate burst possible. I expect coatings to as much as 2″ for most of us (probably a coating to an inch, for the most part), but we can’t rule out a few high-terrain 2-3″ amounts.
Highs on Sunday will only reach the upper 20s to mid 30s, and then fall in the afternoon behind the Arctic cold frontal passage.
For Sunday night, temps are expected to crash into the -5º to 10º range from north to south. Fortunately, winds will be light, so wind chill won’t be a big deal, but it won’t matter much because it’ll freakin’ cold!
Monday will be most unseasonably cold with highs in the upper teens to mid 20s under sunny skies, followed by lows Monday night into the single digits.
Thereafter, we push temps into the 30s Tuesday with snow changing to rain by afternoon and evening, with some high terrain wintry impacts possible.
I will update you as we get closer and move through this final pattern-breaking winter-weather stretch, and I hope you have a great night!
