Winter Weather Alert

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE UP FOR WMASS, CMASS, SVT AND NORTHERN CT FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVE... SNOW, ICE AND RAIN ON THE WAY... THE SLICKEST SPOTS ALONG/NORTH OF RT. 2...
Good afternoon everybody, just a quick post to say that even though we have milder air developing for tomorrow when compared today, the air in place will be dry even if it does rise into the low to mid 30s.
This means that as precip moves in, evaporative cooling will have room to drop and/or hold our air temps around the low 30s vs. dewpoints that will be in the upper teens by late morning toward noon as snow moves into the region.
This means that a longer duration wintry impact is looking more likely with wet snow to start, mixing with or changing to sleet and freezing rain south of the Rt. 2 corridor by evening, with rain further south down near BDL and Hartford, CT and points south.
Just a quick heads up post that some slick travel is expected tomorrow afternoon, with snow/sleet accumulations around a coating an inch or so for most of us, but up to 1-3″ possible along and north of the Rt. 2 corridor into SVT and SWNH.
