*NEW* WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN HOISTED FOR THE ENTIRE GREATER WMASS REGION FOR ICING SUNDAY NIGHT INTO VERY EARLY MONDAY MORNING...
Good afternoon everybody, freezing rain is expected Sunday night into the pre-dawn hours of Monday and therefore fresh Winter Weather Advisories have been hoisted to alert folks to our next bout of impactful winter weather.
We may get a bit of snow/sleet north of Massachusetts, but it’ll be mostly freezing rain in terms of precip type as a strong storm far to our northwest sweeps milder air aloft, up and over colder sub-freezing air at the surface, causing icing.
By sometime on Monday morning it’s expected that from south to north we’ll change to plain rain, even in these advised areas, but icing may hang on in some northern elevated areas into the daylight hours of Monday morning.
I will keep you updated as we approach this next winter weather event, but suffice it to say travel is not advised for Sunday night with an expected icing onset (for now) between 6pm and 9pm from southwest to northeast.
Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, Dave.
