HEAT ADVISORIES LAUNCH TUESDAY AT 11AM THRU WEDNESDAY… HIGHS RISE INTO THE MID 90S TUESDAY AND LOWER 90S WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY… SOUTHWEST GUSTS PICK UP TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVE…

Good evening folks, well, I had mentioned a few spot showers would be seen for our Monday morning, but I did not anticipate they would last and/or redevelop in the afternoon before we’d truly clear skies out, but we certainly saw some fairly brief downpours and showers earlier today, including in Northampton. Going forward, some of us will see a heat wave develop starting tomorrow / Tuesday and lasting into Thursday, though it will *not* be as impactful or widespread as the last one!

For tonight, aside from a few light showers into northern parts of SWNH, temps will drop into the low to mid 60s for lows with a mostly dry night ahead.

For Tuesday, our upper ridge creeping in from the west combines with our surface high to the south to pump the heat and humidity with highs reaching the mid 80s to mid 90s, along with dewpoints pushing into the 65-70º range later in the day into the night.

At the same time, we should see southwesterly gusts pick up and blow 20-35mph at times, with little relief from the heat and humidity Tuesday night with lows hanging in the low to mid 70s.

Late at night, we should see some weakening strong to severe storms from northern New England losing their electricity and converting into scattered showers into SVT and SWNH, maybe lasting into northern MA as they track southward with lows in the 60s.

By Wednesday, we should heat up again, at least into the mid 80s to low 90s before a mid-day cold front drops south into the region, which could touch off a few more showers or storms scattered about the region. Lows would drop into the low to mid 60s.

By Thursday, many of us will hang in the 80s for highs, but a few low 90s are possible in the southern valley, which would likely produce an official heat wave for some areas in the Springfield to Hartford stretch.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
