COLD AND CLEAR TONIGHT, THEN BREEZY AND MILDER THURSDAY WITH ENHANCED RISK OF FIRE SPREAD BY AFTERNOON...
Good evening everybody, we’ve got a cold and clear night ahead as high pressure is moving overhead as I type this post. Lows will bottom out in the 20s, with perhaps a few upper teens readings in SVT.
For tomorrow, high pressure will continue to track east of the region, and by afternoon will allow southerly gusts to pick up and blow up to 25mph at times under mostly sunny skies and highs in the 50s.
Given very low humidity, dry ground in the CT River Valley of WMass and northern CT, CMass and the Walloomsac River Valley in western Bennington County VT, and gusty winds, any ground fires will be able to spread more rapidly.
Lows tomorrow night will dip into the low to mid 30s with patchy fog possible, which will be followed by a lovely Friday with highs in the low to mid 60s under mostly sunny skies.
Have a great evening, Dave.
