Good evening everybody, everything with this storm over the past two days has been going along as expected rainfall totals topping out into the 1-4” range with some sub-1” amounts in western areas, and some 4”+ amounts in eastern areas. Showers have been steadier in parts of the valley this afternoon, but our storm is on the move and radar echoes are breaking up slowly.

For the rest of the night, we can expect periods of rain breaking up into lighter showers as our storm tracks northeast over Cape Cod. The lift needed to maintain our steadier rains earlier today will be pulled away, and so we’ll see rain wind down through midnight, and then quit well before dawn.

Lows will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s with patchy fog possible late, and despite potential for a mostly cloudy very early Tuesday morning, we should see partly to mostly sunny skies develop with highs well into the 60s with a light north to northwest wind. Lows will dip into the mid 40s to low 50s.

Then as high pressure pushes closer, passing to our south, mostly sunny skies will rule for Wednesday and Thursday at least, with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s Wednesday, and well into the 70s across the region for Thursday with a few southern valley areas in the Springfield to Hartford stretch possibly hitting 80º.

We may even get repeat of such warmth on Friday before a cold front brings a few showers at night, setting up for a cooler weekend with highs in the 60s and the chance for a few showers Sunday night.

Have a great rest of your evening, and let’s all be grateful for the nice drink of water we just got with days of sunshine and warming temps straight ahead.

Sleep well, Dave.
