ENSEMBLE GUIDANCE HELPS PAINT LIKELIHOODS... OR IN THIS CASE, LESS LIKELIHOOD FOR WMASS IMPACTS FOR THE MOMENT FOR WEEKEND NOR'EASTER...

Good evening everybody, I just wanted to pop in here as I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the potential nor’easter this weekend. I’ve even seen people online refer to it as Hurricane Sandy, which it is NOT.

This evening’s ensemble guidance (i.e. computer guidance which takes current conditions upstream and then adjusts those conditions with subtle changes of various weather conditions to see how a storm may adjust or track downstream) are showing a lot of potential low center locations this weekend near or east of The Benchmark.

Some are still closer to the longitude of the Cape and Islands generally, but for now, the clustering of more likely low center locations look to be more eastward, and would result in less impacts in the greater WMass region.

All this to say, I will keep track of this storm potential going forward and update you each day as we get closer, but don’t go changing any plans or getting all that worked up about it – it’s still a number of days away.

More soon, thanks, Dave
