Weather Nut Update
April 12, 2026
5:52 pm
BREEZY CONDITIONS DEVELOP THROUGH MONDAY...
Good afternoon everybody, as high pressure continues to track southeast and away from us, low pressure will track northeast through the Great Lakes and float a warm front our way overnight.
This setup is increasing the pressure gradient from west to east through our region, and a tighter pressure gradient creates an increase in wind gusts, which we’re seeing this evening, and will continue to to see at times tonight into Monday morning with a potential spike to 40mph gusts in CMass and northeast CT, with less in the WMass, northwest CT and SVT/SWNH areas.
Boy, that was a looooooooo *pants deeply with great gasps* ooooonnng sentence!
Anyway, along with the periods of wind gusts will come some isolated to widely scattered showers overnight and through Monday with lulls in between under mostly cloudy skies.
By later Monday afternoon, we’ll see another increase in wind gusts, this time over northwest CT, WMass, SVT and SWNH which may produce gusts of 30-45mph at times with warming temps well into the 60s and low 70s for highs as Spring makes a real surge prior to blossoming into early Summer by Tuesday onward.
I can’t rule out the middle of the week peaking into a borderline hot scenario with temps well into the 80s given that we have no real leaf-out yet, so I will keep you updated.
I also can’t rule out additional run-on sentences in the future!
Have a great night… full report tomorrow morning to kick off the week!
