FREEZING RAIN IN THE PIONEER VALLEY, SVT, AND NORTHERN CMASS CHANGES TO PLAIN RAIN THIS MORNING... PATCHY FOG, DENSE IN PLACES, SLOWS DOWN TRAVEL EARLY...
Good morning everybody let me know about any icing that you’ve seen overnight, and your conditions and temps overall. Patchy fog has formed, and it is dense in spots with temps in the upper 20s to mid 30s through the region.
Many areas in the valley are sitting at 31º or 32º, and the same can be said for northern Worcester County, with upper 20s to low 30s in SVT. SWNH is in the low to mid 30s and the Berkshires have expired the Winter Weather Advisory largely in the mid 30s now, where plain rain is falling.
Two more bouts of rain will come through, and an additional tenth of an inch of icing may occur in parts of the valley, and especially so in southern VT and far western Franklin County.
The icing threat will end as southerly flow ahead of the cold front pushes milder temps into the region with highs reaching the upper 30s to mid 40s before falling back as a cold front pushes into the region this afternoon with westerly wind gusts, a few snow showers, and even stronger winds tomorrow with High Wind Watches now hoisted for Tuesday into Tuesday night.
I will post a full report by 7:15am this morning and as usual for every Monday and Friday, I will be on WRSI’s The River 93.9FM around 7:30am, thank you, Dave.
