Good afternoon folks, I just wanted to post a quick update before my rehearsal this evening to say that a number of us hit 100º to 102º in the Pioneer Valley this afternoon, and heat indices pushed way into the 105º to 114º in the Pioneer Valley of WMass, and up to 117º in northern CT, which is about as hot and humid as it gets in these parts.

While we may see an isolated shower or storm this evening, I think the upper ridge as too much influence on our weather, so any activity likely stays north and we stay mostly rain-free, hot and humid tonight with lows in the upper 60s to mid 70s as Extreme Heat Warnings continue through Friday at the very least.

Highs again on Friday should push into the low 90s to low 100s before temps back off through the weekend, with high humidity expected again tomorrow.

As that ridge starts to recede, it will direct more of a west-northwest flow into our region, and reintroduce potential for strong to severe thunderstorms along with showers and downpours late Friday afternoon into the evening with lows dropping to either side of 70º.

The 4th of July Saturday will be hot and humid, but more in the mid 80s to mid 90s for highs and the cold front we’ve been anticipating may be coming through in the afternoon which could take advantage of the heat and humidity to produce some potent storms, so I will keep you updated as we get closer.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
