Good afternoon folks, we’ve generally had about a tenth to a third of an inch of rain in most spots, with a third of an inch up to three-quarters of an inch in northwest MA up into SVT/SWNH as of this late afternoon. More scattered showers are expected tonight with a final round possible after midnight behind the front and south of the Route 2 corridor, mostly gone by dawn.

Our cold front is already slicing southeast into VT and pushing into far northwest MA and that process will continue through the first half of tonight with northwest breezes up to 20mph kicking up overnight as the wind shifts out of the southwest.

Lows will drop into the 40s overnight with patchy fog possible.

For Thursday, we’ll be clearing out and should develop a mostly sunny day with northwest gusts up to 20mph at times as we dry out. Highs will hang in the 50s for most folks, with perhaps a few low 60s in the lower valley.

We should be mostly clear at night with high pressures building in, and with wind slackening that will help radiate out the day’s “heat”, resulting in radiational cooling and lows in the mid 30s to mid 40s for most of us. A few areas may touch the low 30s, so some isolated frost is possible.

By Friday, we should see another mostly sunny day with a spot shower possible and highs again in the 50s to low 60s with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s before another round of showers moves in for Saturday with highs in the 50s to low 60s.

Any showers that do develop should clear out for Mother’s Day with more sunshine expected and highs in the low 60s to low 70s before more rain moves in for Monday, but I will update you with those details in tomorrow morning’s report.
