LIMITED CHANCE FOR ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH MIDNIGHT... SCATTERED SHOWERS EXPECTED EITHER SIDE OF FRIDAY'S DAWN... FINAL ROUND OF FRIDAY AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND STORMS
Good afternoon everybody, I just wanted to update you all as I have been keeping an eye on conditions during this afternoon and in general, I believe the trend is for less in the way of strong to severe thunderstorms.
If any do form, it would probably in far northwest MA into SVT or SWNH, but things are pretty stable so far with a few isolated downpours in the Berkshires and SVT popping up around 5pm.
As the evening wears on, the cold front and associated wave responsible for this potential will be pushing closer to us, but that is as our temps begin to cool with the setting sun.
Still, some scattered showers with some thunder will tend to more readily form in the 7pm-1am timeframe and track northeastward in the region.
After that, the cold front (weakening on its approach) will bring some more scattered showers through from west to east between roughly 3am to 9am, giving us a break in the action from mid to late Friday morning.
Lastly, a final round of showers and thunderstorms will form in the afternoon as a wave of low pressure tracks into eastern MA, but none of these are looking all that strong to severe.
I will keep an eye on things and update you as warranted.
Have a great night!
P.S. Easthampton MA hit 90º today! That’s it for this warm wave, as we head down the other side of the roller coaster to the 20s Monday night.
