SHOWERS WIND DOWN THIS EVENING WITH PATCHY FOG LATE... A FEW SCATTERED SHOWERS MOTHER'S DAY AFTERNOON WITH WARMER TEMPS... A SECOND ROUND OF SHOWERS SOUTH OF THE PIKE AFTER SUNSET
Good afternoon everybody, I just wanted to jump on and post a quick update regarding the rest of our weekend into the start of the next week.
Most of us have seen anywhere from two-tenths up to three-quarters of an inch or so of rainfall today, and a bit more is on teh way before it ends between 7-9pm this evening.
High temps were a bit cooler, more in the mid 40s to mid 50s for the greater WMass region with some upper 50s relegated to northeast CT and low 40s in the mountains of SVT — not warm!
For tonight, lows will drop into the upper 30s to mid 40s with rain quitting and patchy fog developing as higher dewpoint air continues to seep into the region with our warm frontal passage.
A brief spot shower is possible very early in the morning, but I think as the morning wears on, some partly sunny skies should break out with highs warming into the 60s to low 70s, with some upper 50s up in the SVT area, especially in the mountains.
As a cold front swings through, an area of scattered showers will work through the region by around the mid-afternoon timeframe (say 2-5pm), followed by a secondary flare up of showers south of the Pike after sunset as a secondary low strengthens the precip shield along the front that will be passing into southeast New England.
Lows Sunday night will drop into the mid 30s to low 40s, followed by a partly sunny Monday with highs in the mid 50s to mid 60s.
Full report tomorrow, have a great night!
