Good evening everybody, not much has changed except for the new High Wind Warnings in far western parts of the greater WMass region and a later onset of first scattered showers.

We should stay dry through the first part of tonight with temps falling into the upper 30s to low 40s through about 9pm, before rising through the 40s overnight and into the low to mid 50s on Friday morning.

The temperature inversion is forecast to be fairly strong, as it usually is in these southerly wind events in the cold season.

Still, I expect southerly gusts of 35-55mph by mid Friday morning and lasting into the early afternoon with heavy rain at times, and thunder possible before the cold front sweeps through between 1-3pm from west to east.

Gusts may reach 60mph in the high terrain in the Berkshires and Bennington County, so some isolated outages are possible out that way.

By mid to late afternoon, westerly winds will be blowing in behind the cold front, and temps will crash into the 30s by evening with a mix of rain and snow showers blowing in with westerly gusts.

A snow squall is possible, and scattered snow showers should continue Friday night with gusts 35-55mph overnight with some fresh light accumulations in the Berkshires, western hilltowns, SVT/SWNH, and possibly even northern CMass back into eastern Franklin County by Saturday morning.

I will be up early tomorrow and update early with a quick update, and then a full report around 7am.

Have a great night, Dave.
