MY 2026 SUPPORT DRIVE GOAL WAS HIT! THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL OF MY WEATHER NUT PATRON SAINTS! SCATTERED SHOWERS MOVING IN AT TIMES LATE THIS AFTERNOON, TONIGHT, AND INTO THURSDAY
Good almost-evening folks, I just wanted to take a moment and extend the hugest of thank yous and gratitudes to my patrons and supporters this year for stepping forward and contributing to make this year’s annual support drive another success!
Thank you so much for keeping me on this job and in this role for you and our community, I do not take it lightly and will continue to do the best I can with what I’ve got!
As for our weather this evening through to Friday morning, we’ve got a number of changes to step through along the way, and the biggest one is that aside from perhaps Monday, we’re not going to see temps like we’ve enjoyed the past few days for a while as more cold shots are more likely than not going to visit the greater WMass region through much of March.
I don’t see any big winter storms at this moment (though I continue to watch the March 19th-22nd timeframe), but we do have a few windy periods coming up with seesaw-ing temperature swings and a slowing of the snow pack melt (though quite a number was done on that this week!)
For this late afternoon we have a broken line of showers, some on the heavier side, already moving thru the Berkshires and northwest CT tracking east-northeast towards the Pioneer Valley around the 5pm hour.
I don’t expect any thunder with these at the moment, and we’ll see a dry period behind them after they whip on through.
There is another round of showers that will come through probably after sunset, and it’ll be like that overnight: hit or miss, though a steadier band may form south of the Pike later tonight.
Temps surged into the 60s to low 70s for much of WMass and southern CMass down into northern CT with 50s in northern CMass, SWNH and parts of NW.MA into SVT. Lows tonight should hang in the 50s until the early to mid pre-dawn hours and then drop as the cold front swings through before sunrise.
Southerly breezes will switch around to the west and gust 25-40mph by late Thursday morning with scattered rain showers in the morning, which may mix with snow in the high terrain by afternoon.
If the pulse of precipitation forms behind the front for the late afternoon / early evening period that could lay down a coating to inch of snow in the Berkshires, northern Litchfields, western hilltowns and SVT, and possible into the Worcester highlands back into eastern Franklin County and north into SWNH, but I will update on that in the morning.
Temps are going to drop into the 30s and 40s by Thursday afternoon and with the wind, it’ll produce a wintry feel, followed by temps crashing back into the 20s, so from the low 70s today to low to mid 20s tomorrow night — a 45-50 degree difference in 30-36 hours!
More light snow is possible by Friday afternoon and evening with our Clipper system, but some rain may be part of that mix, too, and I will update you in the daily morning report.
Have a great night, and if you had wanted to support my work you can do so at this secure link.
Once again, I’m sending out a massive massive thank you to my amazing supporters, you rock!!
